About Patch

A clearer starting point for Australian gardens.

Patch helps home gardeners answer a deceptively difficult question: what can I plant here, right now?

Why it exists

Gardening advice should feel useful, not overwhelming.

Australia contains tropical, subtropical, temperate, Mediterranean, semi-arid, arid and cool-growing conditions. A single national planting list can therefore be badly timed for many gardeners.

Patch starts with a postcode or current location, matches it to a broad climate, then shows food plants and beautiful plants that are normally suitable for the selected month.

The project is operated by Hotchn Enterprises and is being expanded using feedback from Australian gardeners.

Practical

Useful at the garden bed

Planting methods, timing, sunlight, spacing and care are presented in a form that can be checked quickly.

Transparent

Clear about limitations

Patch explains that weather, altitude, soil, microclimates and exact varieties can change the best date.

Personal

Built around your patch

Save plants on your device, email a guide and receive optional monthly reminders for your postcode.

Growing

Improved with feedback

Request a missing plant, report a problem or suggest the next useful feature through the private feedback form.

Trust the process

How recommendations are prepared

Read the Patch methodology and source policy to understand climate matching, planting windows, safety notes and how information is reviewed.

Patch provides general gardening guidance, not professional horticultural, medical or veterinary advice.
